Even Superwoman Needs to Rest

Day 18: 31 Days

Today was a beautiful day to travel to a nearby lake for my company's annual retreat. It's a special weekend of rest, fellowship and reflection. After a delicious lunch and some company story sharing, I headed into town to do some shopping with two colleagues. We saw this pretty driftwood tree, which I'd love for my porch.

Later, I checked in and found a nice surprise on my bed. Goodies! Next, I got in my workout gear and headed outdoors for some exercise. What a view!

After a lovely day, we gathered for worship and reflection. One of our worship songs really summed up the journey I've been on the past few years and how God's love has never failed.

Here are the lyrics:

Nothing can separate
Even if I ran away
Your love never fails

I know I still make mistakes
But you have new mercies for me everyday
Your love never fails

Chorus:
You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pains in the night but joy comes in the morning

And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails

The wind is strong and the waters deep
But I'm not alone here in these open seas
Cause Your love never fails

The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
But Your love never fails

You make all things work together for my good.

Amen
